David Spencer Supports Tiny Lives
David Spencer Ltd is delighted to be supporting the Tiny Lives Fund which helps provide equipment, facilities and support to families at the Neonatal Service at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary. The unit looks after about 600 newborn babies every year from all over the north of England. As a company we had been looking to support a local charity, when fate had David meet Andrea Atkinson, fundraising manager for Tiny Lives, at an event in Newcastle. Andrea explained to David her role within Tiny Lives unaware that David and Joannes family had aleady, unknown by them, benefitted from the charities work, as their youngest son had actually spent time on the unit following his birth.
From that meeting things have progressed with Paul Sculthorpe visiting the unit and becoming their newest patron and three of the David Spencer Ltd team entering the Great North Run to raise funds!
As part of our support we attended the charities annual Black & White Ball, on the 20th June, the event included a raffle for some great prizes, an auction, as well as a casino. The night was a great success and is the charities most popular event of the year.
In attendance on the night were patrons Peter and Sandra Beardsley, with Peter signing limited edition prints of the hallowed ground that is, St. James Park!
Future events include the charities Christmas Reunion Party in November and a Ladies Day in March next year.
We wish everyone involved in the charity and the dedicated staff at the Neonatal Service continued success with the work they are doing.
